Brick Construction

Our Work

The majority of our projects consist  of Steel Beam Calculations and Structural Drawings for the removal of load-bearing walls.  We also provide a full set of structural calculations and drawings for loft conversations, single/double storey extensions, etc.

Our extensive knowledge and years of experience in the field enables us to meet the demands and challenges of any domestic project head on.

We endeavour to ensure that all our engineering and architectural design solutions are well-thought-out, economically sound and practical.

Droitwich, WR9

We were instructed to provide structural calculations and drawings  for proposed renovations to help improve our client's living space.

The works we discussed included the removal of some internal walls to open up the existing kitchen and dining area, as well as a single storey rear

extension.

We designed 4 RSJ's:

  • 2 beams to support the original external wall at first floor level.

  • 1 beam to add support to timber floors and masonry wall at first floor level.

  • 1 beam above proposed opening in the rear facing external wall for the installation of bi-fold doors

Telford, TF3

We were instructed to provide structural calculations for a pair of steel beams to support timber floors and external cavity wall at first floor level for proposed garage conversion.

The conversion from garage to a wet room  required the removal of a load-bearing wall at ground floor level to provide internal access to the new space.

This project required a full structural design solution for proposed renovations of a large 4 bedroom property.

The renovations involved:

  • The removal of some internal and external load-bearing walls at ground floor level.

  • The design of new timber floor joists at first floor level.

  • Loft conversion with the inclusion of dormers.

We designed (4) RSJ's, (1) timber beam, steel beam connection and padstone details. For the loft conversion we provided new timber floors and a steel ridge beam to support the new roof arrangement.

This project needed structural calculations and drawings for a double storey rear extension. The project required a full structural design solution for the proposed construction.

The ground floor of the extension accommodates an open concept kitchen, utility room and games room.

However, on the first floor of the extension there are three bedrooms with ensuite. We provided the following:

• Foundation design

• Structural calculations for seven steel beams

 •Two steel columns

• Timber floors and ceiling joists

• Lintels above openings in doors and windows

• Steel beam to column connection detail

We were instructed to provide structural calculations and drawings for a  single storey rear extension. The intent of the proposed construction is to create more space in the existing lounge and ultimately improve the flow between the kitchen dining and lounge area

The project required the following services:

• Foundation design

• Structural calculations for one steel beam

• Timber Roof rafters for proposed lean to roof

• Lintels above openings in doors and windows
